The Middletown Silver Co., Middletown, Conn., has purchased the plant formerly used by the Middletown Plate Co. The expansion in productive facilities was necessitated by the company’s growing business.
At the annual meeting of the stockholders of the Middletown Silver Co., Middletown, Conn., the following directors were elected for the ensuing year : Chas. Fountain, Joseph Merriam, F. L. Sage, Edward S. Davis, Middletown, and M. S. Cornell, of Brooklyn, N. Y. The old board of officers were re-elected.
Middletown, Conn.—The Middletown Silver Co. is no longer handling English goods.
The reduction in duty of 15 per cent, said M. S. Cornell, Jr., president and treasurer, was not a marked factor, in that it only reduced the landed cost of goods plus duty by something less than 10 per cent, and did not obviate any of the difficulties experienced with methods and distance.

Suydam Cornell, Jr., of Brooklyn, and Miss Helen Lydia Merriam were united in marriage last week at the home of the bride in Middletown. Mr. Cornell is connected with the Middletown Silver Co.
