Need help with date letter and makers mark on pocketwatch

Post by Danielle »

Hello,
I am trying to find out the origins of a pocket watch that I own. The name on it is "Talbott & Talbott" and since I cannot seem to find any info on the net on that exact name, I am relying on my own researching skills. I already know from the hallmarks that it is indeed silver and the assay office is Chester. However I am stuck on the makers mark and date letter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx

Hello.
The date mark looks like 1890 to me.
Robert Gravener entered a RG in an oval mark in London, 1885.
Don't know if he had his mark entered at Chester also.

Could not find any other case makers who used this RG in an oval mark during this period.
