Adam Eve Pendant Lion + italic A + shield + ? 1700's?

Post by Fleury74 »

I would appreciate any help on this - I've looked at all the British hallmarks and the closest I've come is the City of Chester 1726 or 1901 by the style of the italic A and shape of Lion in rectangle. The shield is hard to figure out - within looks almost like a cracked egg and then half the shell on the right.
Maybe the names and typography style on the pendant would help?
Thank you!

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

I think you will need to post a clearer close-up photo of the hallmarks to get a postive ID, from this distance it looks more like 1975, but a better photo will answer your question.

Hi,

Yes, thats 1975, the first year that all British assay offices used the same date mark under the Hallmarking Act 1973.
