Hello, I have recently been doing my genealogy and came across an old Pocket Watch that belonged to an old relative I'm not sure whom. Using this site I managed to date and place another Silver item left to me but I cannot seem to find either the company who made it or where it was made.

The Mark isn't the clearest but it has C & W for the letters and a kind of empty shield on the left. It also came in an old box that has a company called The Glossoid Co in Holborn Circus if that helps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hello and welcome.

I read the sterling hallmarks as London 1914.
Believe the C&W mark was used by Clarke & Ward ( Thomas Samuel Clarke and Alfred Ward ), 55 Kensington Road, Coventry.
They entered that mark at London on June 20, 1910.
Clarke & Ward made the watch case.
