Pocket watch - is it British?

Post by Schnerby »

I have been doing some simple research into silver marks and generally find this site and the forum a very helpful guide. I am having trouble with this watch because I am not sure if the lion marks are in fact lions. I don't want to do much more research without knowing I am looking in the right country. Your help would be very much appreciated.

The marks on both sides of the case and the actual watch all match.

Sorry about the poor pictures, the camera doesn't like it and I can't lay the marks flat on the scanner.

0,935 (this is in a rectangle and I take it to mean the grade of silver)

Elongated shield with a tiny figure in it. (this has me puzzled)

Two side by side animal figures which look similar to the British lion, but might not be.

Thanks, Trev!

That helps very much with my search for information.

Any other advice/tips greatly appreciated.
