Unknown Makers Mark of KK on Silver Buckle

Post by nmdc114 »

Hi Folks.

I wonder if anyone can help me. I have one part of a lovely two piece vintage silver buckle but I cannot find out who the makers mark represents. It is KK? Can Anyone Help? I would be very grateful. Sorry I havent cleaned it in a while!!!

Hi Nigel,

I don't have a reference to check the mark, but I suspect it is the mark of Karl Karlsson, a known worker in emamels and silver and also known to make buckles. His working period was the early years of the 20th century.

Hopefully some will have a reference to confirm.

Culme confirms this as the mark of Karl Karlsson, and him as making enameled silver wares, including a waist buckle of circa 1903.
