Need help identifying hallmark on Candlestick Holder

Post by harrisonjward »

Picked these up at a thrift store. These may not be American Hallmarks. First symbol looks like an arched swan or dragon head. Second might be a bell. And the last looks like some sort of Egyptian symbol. Any ideas? Picture isn't great, but you can get the idea. Thanks!

Candlestick holder, made from .900 silver — assayed in Cairo, Egypt, after 1946.

Hello

Welcome to the Forum.

Your candlestick holder is of Egypt origin.

The candlestick holder is made from silver of 900-1,000 silver fineness — assayed in Cairo, Egypt, after 1946.

Yours mark picture is placed upside down.

Please look here (left row upper middle, Egypt): http://www.925-1000.com/foreign_marks.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Awesome! As I looked over that I did think that looked Egyptian, but I never turned it upside down. Thanks so much though.
