Pat Strominger - 2209patrick - In Memoriam
Posted: Sun May 13, 2012 11:13 am
It is with great sadness that I report the passing of longtime forum member and co-administrator D. Patrick Strominger, known here simply by his member name 2209patrick.
Almost since our silver forum's inception in 2005, Pat generously volunteered his time as a forum administrator and moderator. His avid interest in the silverplate industry and its mark usage was directly responsible for the inclusion of the silverplate section of our forum, where over the years, Pat answered thousands of submitted queries. He graciously donated his own collection of silverplate mark images to form the founding kernel of the silverplate trademark section of our main website. Pat also authored the site's fine article on Christofle marks and history.
In 2009 Patrick founded pewtertankardsflagons.com, a website devoted to documenting touch and trademarks found on antique, vintage, and modern pewter. His dedication to the task enabled his site to develop into an invaluable web research resource.
We hold Pat with fondness in our memories and will sorely miss his warmth and enthusiasm for the sharing of knowledge. Â
Â
Our deepest sympathy is extended to Patrick's family and friends.Â
Sincerely,
Tom Guarrera
