Pairpoint needle & thead Case ?? info ??

I've had this piece for a few years and have searched from time to time for information or to find another. I have never found anything like it.
It is marked on the interior catch tabs PAIRPOINT MFG. CO. and 3622
Engraved on the front is A Stitch in time Saves Nine.
I was starting to think it was an altered match safe but no, there is no striker and it opens differently.
So, being that I can't find another I'm thinking it's quite rare. I know Pairpoint is a good name.

From the "Stitch in time" label and the central container, it is, in all probability a needle case.
