Mexican Obsidian Cuauhtemoc Head with .925 Silver inlays

I have recently acquired a Mexican Obsidian Cuauhtemoc Head with .925 Silver inlays.
The height of this item is 28 cm and it weighs 2,6 kg.
It was originally purchased by the previous owner in Mexico, in the 90s.
There is a Hallmark at the bottom-back of the base which reads as follows:
TALLER MEXICO
TORRESCANO925
TAXCO 925
My questions regarding this item are:
What is the place of origin of this head, can it be dated and is it genuine?
(admin edit - see Posting Requirements )
I would have liked to add some images to this request, but do not seem to be able to get this right.
I would appreciate any feedback, with thanks in advance.
