I have a coffee pot, marked sterling silver with shield markings that look like an eagle head, letter D, and seated figure. It is most likely American, but i cannot find the markings in libraries. Does anybody know what it is? The pot looks light and thin. Hope it is really sterling. Here are the pictures.

Your's would be a variant of the mark.

BTW..try re-posting the pictures a bit larger (Hotlinks for forums in 640 size).

Being as you are in Nu Yoke, it might be by their pedecessor the Gold Recovery and Refining Corp. (1940-45) of NY, NY. They should be under "G" listing.
