Unmarked spoon/ladle 8-22-36

This 6-1/2" spoon/ladle appears to me to be solid silver, and the date of 8-22-36 etched on the reverse of the handle seems to point to America (date format of month-day-year). I assume it's 1836. It looks as though it began life as two pieces that were soldered together -- bowl and handle. When I first saw it, I thought Germany or Scandinavia, but again, the date makes me think otherwise. I can find no maker's mark anywhere. It has the look and feel of solid silver -- no plate wear and bends fairly easily.
Any ideas as to country of origin, maker, age?
Thanks,
Dave
