I've had this piece for about 3 years now and have been searching for anyone who can identify its mark, Maker and Apx Date. So far no one has been able to help. I believe it is an English piece possibly 18th century. It tested as solid silver with super high quality custom paste stones and seems to be made with a lot of care in detail. It seems to have 2 marks. Both are very small. One is clear under a strong zoom. The other one is still unclear. Can anyone help me in identifying the maker and date to this buckle or lead me in the right direction? Thank you

Incredible Piece- Desperate for help on maker and date!
Hi,
Glad to point you in the right direction.
Were it British, it would have marks resembling the ones found here -> 925-1000.com ~ British Hallmarks
But it is French, so give a look to the marks here -> 925-1000.com ~ French Hallmarks
Hopefully someone will identify your maker.

Wow!!
Hi Tom, Wow that was quick!!! You've already solved part of the mystery!! No doubt French!! The mark I thought was unclear turns out to be a Boars head for the Guarantee mark!! Outstanding.... After reviewing the French hallmarks on your site, I noticed at the bottom right of the page, you show a mark with a boars head. The makers mark with it is not exact but very very close to mine. That may help someone put a name to this Great piece!! Thanks again!!!!!!
