Hi- I was hoping someone could ID the maker's mark on this bracelet. It's got an Portuguese assay mark of a small article, second standard, from Porto- an eagle? head facing left in a beveled rectangle with the number 833 below it. Next to the assay mark is a maker's mark- looks like a rising sun with a capital "A" above it. The mark is too small to get a pic of but I did a rough sketch. The maker's mark appears not only on the clasp, but also on both the small rings that connect the safety chain to the bracelet. THanks!
A, above rising sun = António Pinto Bernardino (mark reg.: 1927-1973), Gondomar.
Hello »Garnet«
The maker’s mark on yours bracelet is that of António Pinto Bernardino, from Gondomar, registered for the time span 1927-1973.
Yours bracelet is »assayed« between 1938 and 1973.
The style of the bracelet is in a more ‘conventional’ Portuguese interpretation of a mix of stylistic elements between »Art Nouveau« and »Art deco«.
